The therapeutic use of foods and nutritional medicine can play an essential role in improving one’s health. Custom Medicine offers the services of Judith Mabel, RD, PhD - a medical nutritionist who specializes in helping patients manage a wide range of conditions.

Initial consultations are 60 minutes. At the initial consult, current nutritional status will be assessed and certain testing may be recommended. You and Dr. Mabel will agree upon a plan to make positive, realistic changes in eating habits and supplements to help meet health goals. Follow-up sessions, scheduled for 30-60 minutes, are used to reinforce nutrition goals, estimate current intake, create menu plans and provide additional nutrition information. Family members are welcome to attend the sessions.

Dr. Mabel sees patients at Custom Medicine Pharmacenter on a bi-weekly basis and appointments may be scheduled by calling 978.524.4800.

Dr. Mabel is a Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Tufts Health Plan provider. In addition, other plans may cover nutrition counseling. In those cases, Dr. Mabel will provide you with a “superbill” for reimbursement.
